Warriors add Brandon Williams on one-year, $2.6M deal
Brandon Williams signed a one-year, $2.6 million contract with the Warriors in August, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
The guard is coming off his best season yet in Dallas, averaging 13 points and 3.9 assists across 66 games after two years on two-way deals. He arrives to compete with De'Anthony Melton for minutes behind Stephen Curry.
Warriors reporter Dalton Johnson says Williams has stood out in training camp, calling his speed a difference-maker for the second unit. Coach Steve Kerr compared him to Leandro Barbosa, calling him the fastest player the team has had. Williams projects as Curry's backup, with a chance to start on nights Curry rests.
