Quentin Grimes signed a four-year, $60 million deal with the Lakers this offseason, his first chance to pick his own team after stops in New York, Detroit, Dallas and Philadelphia.
Quentin Grimes signed a four-year, $60 million deal with the Lakers this summer, with a player option for 2029-30. He told ESPN LA the move made sense given his ties to Luka Doncic, coach JJ Redick and assistants he already knew.
Rob Pelinka told reporters the Lakers have 16 guaranteed contracts, one over the regular-season limit, and must resolve it by their Oct. 21 opener against Golden State. He said waiving a player is one option but a consolidation trade sending out two players for one is also under consideration.
