Nuggets seen as top landing spot if Hornets release Nembhard
Ryan Nembhard cleared waivers Tuesday after Charlotte cut him following his arrival via the Buddy Hield-Dorian Finney-Smith trade. Marc Stein reports several teams are interested in signing him, with Denver among the most interested in a two-way deal.
Knicks analyst Tommy Beer had floated New York as a fit too, noting the Knicks are the only team with multiple open two-way spots and pointing to a history between Nembhard's brother, Andrew Nembhard, and the franchise.
Nembhard averaged 6.6 points and 5.3 assists in 60 games as a rookie with Dallas, with bigger numbers in the G League, and had a 28-point, 10-assist game against the Nuggets last season.
