Lakers passed on Buddy Hield deal over second-round pick cost
Sources told ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel the Lakers could have pulled off a two-for-one move to acquire Buddy Hield before he landed with the Bulls. Los Angeles reportedly balked at including a second-round pick to make the contracts work.
Hield instead signed a four-year, roughly $37.7 million deal with Chicago after stops in Atlanta and Charlotte. The Lakers had also pursued Jonathan Kuminga before he signed with Minnesota.
