Fischer roundup: Hawkins' Grizzlies fate, Vincent's market, Sabonis trade odds
Jake Fischer said on his Bleacher Report stream that Jordan Hawkins, newly dealt from New Orleans to Memphis, is likely to get a real look at a roster spot. Memphis carries 19 players for 15 spots, and Fischer flagged D'Angelo Russell, Kris Murray, Walter Clayton Jr. and Micah Peavy as most at risk if Hawkins sticks.
Free agent Gabe Vincent had talks with Cleveland earlier in the offseason but is now blocked by the Cavaliers' hard cap. Sacramento also had mutual interest in Vincent before signing Ben Simmons instead, though Fischer said Vincent wasn't eager to join a rebuilding roster.
Fischer still views Charlotte as a possible landing spot for Domantas Sabonis, but says a trade is unlikely until Sabonis proves healthy after playing just 19 games last season.
He also named Brandon Miller, Ausar Thompson, Keyonte George and Cason Wallace as the rookie-scale extension candidates agents see as most likely to get deals done by the October 19 deadline.
