Young says Atlanta's third GM change pushed him toward a trade

Trae Young told Michael Porter Jr. on his YouTube channel that his exit from Atlanta was tied to Travis Schlenk's ouster and Onsi Saleh's arrival as the Hawks' new lead executive.

Young said he never felt fully comfortable once the team brought in its third general manager during his tenure, though he praised owner Tony Ressler. He was traded to Washington and signed a four-year, $213 million extension there. Atlanta has since built around Jalen Johnson, No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa and Alex Sarr.
