Wolves waive Konchar hours after landing him from Utah in Kuminga trade
Minnesota waived John Konchar hours after acquiring him and Cody Williams from Utah in a trade that sent Josh Green's expiring $14.68M salary to the Jazz, clearing room to complete Jonathan Kuminga's signing.
The Wolves are stretching Konchar's roughly $6.2M cap hit over three years at about $2.06M annually, with the move also leaving Minnesota room under the second apron for another minimum contract, likely to fill the roster spot left by an injured Donte DiVincenzo.
Konchar, dealt twice in the past six months after starting his career in Memphis, is expected to draw interest from other teams and could reach unrestricted free agency once he clears waivers Monday.
