Kansas freshman Tyran Stokes remains in the mix for the No. 1 pick in the 2027 draft, per ESPN, which pegged him as the early frontrunner back in June.

Evaluations have since split: scouts like the 6-foot-8 forward's ball-handling and passing reads for his size, but flag his shooting, turnovers, defensive engagement and demeanor. His season at Kansas is expected to settle the argument. This is early-cycle projection, not a transaction.
