Trade idea sends Zion Williamson to Lakers for Grimes, Mamukelashvili

A proposed deal would send Zion Williamson and Trendon Watford to Los Angeles for Quentin Grimes, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Jarred Vanderbilt and Jake LaRavia. A variant swaps in Bryce McGowens instead of Watford, letting the Lakers keep LaRavia.

The trade could not happen before Dec. 15, when Grimes and Mamukelashvili become trade-eligible. The pitch would pair Williamson with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, with New Orleans clearing a crowded frontcourt after adding Saddiq Bey and Bennedict Mathurin.
