Towns, Hart could become trade bait if Knicks extensions stall
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart could become trade candidates if they don't sign extensions before the February deadline. Towns is eligible for four years and over $276 million, Hart for four years and $131.2 million, but Charania says neither side is close.
Towns told reporters he wants to stay but that he and the Knicks aren't near a deal, with owner James Dolan intent on staying under the second tax apron. Towns said Monday he would be willing to accept a team-friendly deal despite the gap between the two sides.
