Lakers insider Jovan Buha says OG Anunoby, Mikal Bridges or Josh Hart would make sense for Los Angeles if any shook loose from New York. Buha singles out Anunoby as the best fit alongside Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves.
Lakers insider Jovan Buha says Josh Hart, Mikal Bridges or OG Anunoby would each make sense for the Lakers if the Knicks ever moved on from one of them. Hart began his career in Los Angeles before being dealt in the Anthony Davis trade, and later won a title with New York.
ESPN's Shams Charania reports Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart could become trade candidates if they don't sign extensions before the February deadline. Towns is eligible for four years and over $276 million, Hart for four years and $131.2 million, but Charania says neither side is close.
Yahoo's Kevin O'Connor reports Milwaukee would entertain trade offers for both Myles Turner and Kel'el Ware, though moving the younger Ware seems unlikely given a rebuild.
Josh Hart and Karl-Anthony Towns both say extension talks with the Knicks have stalled, with little chance of a deal before the season starts.
Ian Begley of SNY.tv reports the Knicks are considering free agent big man Tony Bradley for a roster spot, alongside earlier interest in Drew Eubanks and John Konchar. New York is expected to carry only 14 standard players plus three two-way deals into camp, with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond set at center.
James L. Edwards III of The Athletic says it's "very realistic" that both Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart sign extensions well under their maximums, helping the Knicks navigate the second apron.
+2A hypothetical four-team deal has the Lakers landing Josh Hart and a 2031 second-rounder while the Knicks take PJ Washington and two second-round picks. Dallas would collect Jaden Hardy, Jake LaRavia and a 2033 first, with Dalton Knecht going to Houston.
One trade idea has New Orleans sending Zion Williamson and Yves Missi to the Knicks for Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, a 2027 second-rounder via Washington and a 2033 first. The pitch is framed as a fallback if the Pelicans start next season badly, with New York getting off salary and away from the second apron.
Two league sources point to a middle ground between Josh Hart and the Knicks on a three-year extension worth roughly $54 million to $62 million, or about $18-20 million a year, close to his current rate.
