Towns and Knicks stuck $76M apart on extension terms
Karl-Anthony Towns and New York remain far apart on an extension, with Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes reporting the Knicks have offered four years and $200 million against a max worth $277 million.
Towns is reportedly willing to take less than max but not that much less, per Haynes, and it increasingly looks like he'll open the season without a new deal.
Towns himself said last week the situation doesn't look good, pointing to what he's already sacrificed to help New York chase a title. Some Knicks coverage has floated trade speculation if talks remain stuck, though nothing has been reported as active.
