Simmons pitches De'Aaron Fox for Darius Garland swap

Bill Simmons floated a trade sending De'Aaron Fox from San Antonio to the Clippers for Darius Garland plus draft assets, on his podcast. Simmons argued Fox's rough 2026 Finals and long, expensive contract make him a risk while Garland offers a shorter bridge to Dylan Harper taking over at point guard.

Fox is owed roughly $221M over four years compared to Garland's deal, which runs through 2027-28 at about $39.4M annually. There is no indication either team has engaged in talks.
