Shumate returns to Pelicans on training camp deal

Christian Shumate has signed a training camp contract with New Orleans, according to Paul Garcia of The Spot Up Shot. The undrafted wing spent last season with the Pelicans' G League affiliate in Birmingham after being waived from an Exhibit 10 deal, averaging 11.2 points and 6.6 rebounds in 40 games.

Another Exhibit 10 and G League assignment would let him earn up to a $91K bonus if he logs 60 days with the team's relocated Kenner affiliate. New Orleans is now at the offseason limit of 21 players under contract, with a two-way spot still open.
