Podziemski says extension talk won't distract him as deadline nears

Brandin Podziemski and Golden State have until Monday, October 19 to reach a rookie-scale extension. He told reporters at media day he's leaving talks to his agent and general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr., and won't let it affect his focus this season.

ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel reported Podziemski could seek around $25 million annually, with $22-24 million more realistic. The San Francisco Standard's Danny Emerman projected a five-year, $100 million deal, comparing him to Peyton Watson, Christian Braun, Shaedon Sharpe and Ayo Dosunmu.

Marc Stein says both the Warriors and Podziemski want a deal before the deadline, grouping him with other young players likely to get extensions this week, including Brandon Miller in Charlotte, Anthony Black in Orlando and Cason Wallace in Oklahoma City.

No terms have been discussed publicly, and the deal still depends on beating the clock.
