Podziemski locks in $110M extension with trade kicker
Brandin Podziemski has agreed to a fully-guaranteed five-year, $110 million rookie-scale extension with Golden State, ESPN's Shams Charania reports.
The deal averages $22 million per season, starting at $18.9 million next season, according to ESPN's Anthony Slater. It also includes a mutual option for 2031-32 and a trade kicker.
Agent Bill Duffy confirmed the agreement to Charania. Podziemski had reportedly been seeking $20-24 million annually.
Podziemski started 43 of 82 games last season, averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He becomes the fifth player from the 2023 draft class to sign a rookie extension, joining Victor Wembanyama, Amen Thompson, Ausar Thompson and Keyonte George.
The extension keeps the young guard with the Warriors long-term.
