Oladipo pushes for a comeback, but Miami skipped his open tryout
Victor Oladipo remains unsigned and has been working out at Miami's facility, which Sun Sentinel reporter Ira Winderman says the Heat have monitored, though they skipped his open tryout in Las Vegas and did not send anyone this summer, with Winderman suggesting a reunion could disrupt roster chemistry.
NBA insider Jake Fischer reports Miami has one roster spot and minimum-salary space left after Klay Thompson took a discounted deal, with internal interest in a veteran guard, including former Heat guard Gabe Vincent.
Oladipo told Yahoo Sports there's mutual interest with Sacramento, who have room for two more minimum deals; Fischer says the Kings are instead weighing Oladipo or Russell Westbrook to mentor rookie Darius Acuff Jr., and Kings scouts attended Oladipo's summer pro day.
Oladipo hasn't played since tearing his patellar tendon in the 2023 playoffs.
