Heat unlikely to bring back Oladipo, but keep him on speed dial

Heat insider Ira Winderman reports Miami is not prioritizing a reunion with Victor Oladipo, though the team has monitored him and let him work out at Kaseya Center.

Winderman says Miami's win-now mode favors proven contributors over reclamation projects, and the roster has cap room below the hard cap for just one more minimum-salary addition.

Adding Oladipo now could be one piece too many with so many newcomers to integrate, but Miami could still keep him as a later option if a spot opens.

Miami Herald reporter Barry Jackson adds the Heat plan to keep their last roster spot open for a while, watching the buyout market for names like Zach LaVine or a possible D'Angelo Russell split from Memphis.

Sacramento, once seen as another fit for Oladipo, has since made other signings that take it out of the picture.
