Nicolas Batum announces retirement after 18 NBA seasons
Batum revealed his decision Monday in a social media video with his 10-year-old son, saying he'd done his time and wanted to be home with family. The 37-year-old spent his final six seasons with the Clippers, averaging 4.0 points last year, after stops in Portland, Charlotte and Philadelphia.
He finishes with career averages of 9.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists, and reached a conference finals with LA in 2021. The Clippers had already declined his $5.9 million option this summer, making him an unrestricted free agent before the announcement.
