Batum revealed his decision Monday in a social media video with his 10-year-old son, saying he'd done his time and wanted to be home with family. The 37-year-old spent his final six seasons with the Clippers, averaging 4.0 points last year, after stops in Portland, Charlotte and Philadelphia.
The Clippers signed Jahmyl Telfort to an Exhibit 10 contract on Wednesday. He appeared in eight games for the team last season. Los Angeles waived Fletcher Loyer the same day.
Bradley Beal signed a two-year, $13.1 million deal to stay with the Clippers, even as the roster around him was stripped down. Beal told reporters his priority was health and consistency, not chasing a contender elsewhere.
