LaRavia's Lakers starting job at risk amid trade chatter

Lakers GM Rob Pelinka said the team could explore a consolidation trade at his season-opening press conference, fueling speculation about the roster.

ClutchPoints' David Yapkowitz named Jake LaRavia a possible trade candidate given the arrivals of Sandro Mamukelashvili, Ziaire Williams and Matisse Thybulle, and because LaRavia is in the final year of his deal.

Lakers insider Jovan Buha named six players, including LaRavia, Williams, Mamukelashvili, Jarred Vanderbilt, Adou Thiero and Thybulle, as candidates for the open starting power forward spot.

Lakers insider Khobi Price argued LaRavia's defensive size and chemistry with Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves could still give him the edge for that job.
