Konchar draws Knicks, Heat, Magic and Raptors interest as free agent

John Konchar is drawing interest from the Knicks, Heat, Magic and Raptors, Marc Stein reported in his Stein Line newsletter, calling him one of the top free agents still available.

Toronto lacks room under the hard cap, Miami and Orlando aren't required to fill full rosters, and New York may prefer a big man for its last spot. No frontrunner has emerged, and Konchar, a 30-year-old wing who offers defense and energy without needing the ball much, will weigh playing time against contention.

Konchar became a free agent after Utah traded him to Minnesota in a deal for Josh Green. The Timberwolves then waived and stretched his contract, freeing room to fit Jonathan Kuminga's new deal under the second apron.

Any deal for Konchar would likely come at the veteran's minimum. He averaged 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals last season between Memphis and Utah.
