Knicks weigh Eubanks, Konchar for final roster spots
SNY's Ian Begley reports the Knicks are tracking free agents Drew Eubanks and John Konchar to fill open standard roster spots, with one veteran minimum slot available under the second apron.
Eubanks, who spent last season in Sacramento before season-ending thumb surgery to repair a torn UCL, would give coach Mike Brown a third true center behind Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond after New York lost Mitchell Robinson and Ariel Hukporti, likely on a non-guaranteed deal.
Konchar, recently waived and stretched by Minnesota after being traded there from Utah in the Josh Green deal, would add rebounding and defensive versatility on the wing, and he is also drawing interest from Miami.
New York has 13 players on guaranteed money and could use its 14th spot on a center while holding the 15th open for trade-deadline flexibility, given the team's tax situation.
