Knicks lock up McCullar and Nickel on two-way deals
New York officially signed Kevin McCullar Jr. and Tyler Nickel to two-way contracts on Sunday.
McCullar returns for a third straight two-way season, having appeared in 25 games over two years without cracking the rotation, after being taken 56th overall in 2024; last season he averaged 2.4 points in 7.4 minutes across 21 games while posting strong numbers for Westchester in the G League.
Nickel, drafted 47th overall out of Vanderbilt, shot 41.3 percent from three in Summer League play and becomes one of the last second-rounders to sign his first NBA contract. The moves push New York to 20 players for training camp, one shy of the maximum, and use two of the team's three two-way slots.
