Klay Thompson passed on Lakers over Davis injury worries

Klay Thompson's camp talked with the Lakers in the 2024 offseason, with LeBron James willing to take less money to fit him in, but Thompson signed with Dallas instead.

Christian Clark of The Athletic reports that one factor was Thompson's concern about Anthony Davis' availability, according to a source familiar with his thinking.

Thompson has since agreed to a buyout in Dallas and intends to sign with Miami once he clears waivers. Davis and Thompson wound up teammates anyway after the Luka Doncic trade, and played just 27 games together.
