Hornets waive Rob Dillingham day after acquiring him

Charlotte is waiving Rob Dillingham a day after acquiring him, ESPN's Shams Charania reports, ending an unusually brief tenure before he played a game for the team.

The Hornets got the former No. 8 overall pick from Chicago over the weekend in a trade sending Buddy Hield to the Bulls, a deal that also netted Charlotte a $9.6 million trade exception. Dillingham averaged 9.6 points and 2.8 assists in 30 games for Chicago last season.
