Hornets sign UMBC guard DJ Armstrong after Mbeng waiver

Charlotte announced the signing of free agent guard DJ Armstrong, son of former NBA player Darrell Armstrong. He averaged 16.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists last season at UMBC, shooting 46.4% from the field and leading the America East in three-point percentage at 41.9%.

No terms were disclosed, but it's likely an Exhibit 10 deal carrying a bonus up to $91K if he's waived and spends 60 days with Charlotte's G League affiliate. The move fills a training camp spot opened when Charlotte waived Bez Mbeng.
