Hornets sign Tre Carroll, waive DJ Armstrong to make room

Charlotte officially signed forward Tre Carroll and waived guard DJ Armstrong to open a spot on its 21-man offseason roster. Carroll averaged 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists last season at Xavier after transferring from Florida Atlantic, and went undrafted before appearing in Wizards summer league.

His deal likely carries Exhibit 10 language, setting him up to join the Greensboro Swarm and earn a bonus worth up to $91K if he spends 60 days there.
