Hornets add guard Bez Mbeng after waiving Kobe Stewart

Charlotte announced it signed guard Bez Mbeng, filling the roster spot left by Monday's release of Kobe Stewart. Mbeng went undrafted out of Yale in 2025 but earned Ivy League Player and Defensive Player of the Year honors before spending most of last season with Miami's G League affiliate in Sioux Falls.

He later earned two 10-day deals and a rest-of-season contract with Utah, averaging 8.1 points and 4.1 assists over 15 late-season appearances. Given Charlotte's recent pattern of signing and waiving players for its Greensboro G League club, this looks like another Exhibit 10 deal.
