Grizzlies expected to waive four of five roster hopefuls

Jake Fischer reports Memphis is expected to waive four of Jordan Hawkins, Micah Peavy, D'Angelo Russell, Walter Clayton Jr. and Kris Murray to get to 15 players.

Fischer believes Hawkins has the best chance of sticking, with several teams reportedly ready to claim him if he's cut, while Russell looks like the least likely to remain with the Grizzlies.

LakeShowLife's Svyatoslav Rovenchuk suggested Russell's best remaining path could be a training camp invite elsewhere, warning that his career may be nearing its end if that doesn't materialize.

Heat insider Ira Winderman named Russell as a possible target for Miami if he is waived or bought out, though the Heat may prefer to hold that roster spot for a bigger name such as Zach LaVine.
