Globe's Washburn says Celtics should pay Pritchard $22M a year
Boston Globe columnist Gary Washburn argued on the Big 3 NBA podcast that Boston should offer Payton Pritchard roughly $22M annually on his next deal.
Pritchard, extension eligible now, is set to earn $7.8M this season and $8.3M in 2027-28. Washburn called him one of the league's best bargains and said a new deal would still be easy to trade if Boston ever moved on.
Separately, MassLive's Brian Robb reports the Celtics are in no rush to fill an open two-way slot, wanting flexibility as camp opens, with Neemias Queta cited as the type of player who could become available elsewhere.
Boston will formally introduce Paul George, Mitchell Robinson and Mike Conley at a press conference Tuesday.
