Diabate among overlooked veteran extension candidates

Hornets center Moussa Diabate is flagged as a quiet extension candidate after breaking out in 2025/26, averaging 7.9 points, 8.7 rebounds and a block while starting 47 games. He's set for unrestricted free agency next summer after earning $2.46M this season.

The roundup also names other lesser-known extension-eligible players, including Raptors guard Jamal Shead, Celtics forward Jordan Walsh and Mavericks wing Naji Marshall, alongside bigger names like Brandon Miller and Karl-Anthony Towns facing the October 19 rookie-scale deadline.
