Conley picked Boston to play for a 'flagship' franchise, says Krawczynski
Mike Conley signed a one-year deal with the Celtics this summer after leaving Minnesota. The Athletic's Jon Krawczynski said on CLNS Media's 'Celtics Daily' that Conley, despite never having played in the East, wanted to spend at least one season with a marquee organization like Boston.
Brad Stevens said the addition was about adding a steady veteran who understands his role without needing heavy minutes. Conley averaged 4.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 54 games for Minnesota last season.
