Writer pitches Knicks-Wizards swap of Towns for Anthony Davis

Bleacher Report's Andrew Peters floated a trade idea sending Karl-Anthony Towns from New York to Washington for Anthony Davis. It is one of three possible landing spots floated if Towns and the Knicks can't agree on an extension.

The pitch comes amid reports that New York has stepped back from extension talks, with Towns saying he wants to stay but feels disrespected by the pace of talks.

Peters argues Towns could fit long-term alongside Trae Young and AJ Dybantsa in Washington, while Davis would give New York a center to keep its title defense afloat.

Davis has a player option decision looming after this season, which he has said he will make only once the season ends. No team or agent has been reported discussing the swap.
