Wolves' second-round pick Kaufman-Renn opts for college over G League
Trey Kaufman-Renn, taken 59th overall by Minnesota in the 2026 draft, says he won't sign with the Timberwolves and is heading back to college instead.
He won a temporary restraining order letting him claim a sixth season under the NCAA's new eligibility rules, though he confirmed he's done with Purdue and will pick a new school.
Since he never signed a contract with Minnesota, he's free to pursue amateur status as long as he drops professional representation. Several schools have reportedly already offered him a spot, with NIL money potentially topping what he'd earn in the G League.
