Webster says Leonard's new deal won't crowd out a Barrett extension

Raptors general manager Bobby Webster said Kawhi Leonard's two-year, $115 million extension won't limit talks with RJ Barrett. He added that ownership remains supportive of spending when the front office wants to move.

Barrett enters the final year of his four-year, $107 million deal after averaging 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season.

Sportsnet's Michael Grange reports Toronto and Barrett's agent, Bill Duffy, haven't had substantive extension talks, though a new deal could reach $185 million over four years, a figure RealGM put at $185.7 million.

Grange notes Toronto already carries heavy future commitments to Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and Jakob Poeltl, which could complicate keeping Barrett long-term.

Barrett said he wants to stay in Toronto long-term but is leaving negotiations to Duffy for now.
