Washington's market stays cold, leaving Lakers a possible opening
Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus reports P.J. Washington's trade market is thin. His four-year, $88.8 million deal has scared off suitors including the Lakers for now.
Pincus notes Dallas would likely welcome taking on Jarred Vanderbilt's 2027-28 player option to shed Washington's longer contract, and the Lakers could revisit a deal later in the season if their power forward need persists.
Lakers insider Jovan Buha said he lacks confidence in Kyle Kuzma or Grant Williams starting at that spot the way Washington could.
Fansided's Mat Issa floats a three-team trade sending Washington to the Lakers alongside Milwaukee center Jericho Sims.
Dallas would get Vanderbilt, Kevin Porter Jr., a first-round pick swap and two second-rounders, while Jake LaRavia would head to Milwaukee to balance salaries. The idea is pitched as a fit alongside Luka Doncic, with no team reported discussing it.
