Vincent still unsigned, with Heat reunion floated as a fit

Gabe Vincent remains a free agent roughly three weeks before rosters lock. Atlanta let him go after acquiring him from the Lakers at the deadline, and Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus flagged Miami's thin point guard depth as a fit.

Insider Brett Siegel said a reunion makes sense given his ties to Bam Adebayo and Erik Spoelstra, and now adds that Adebayo has pushed the front office to bring Vincent back.

Heavy's Sean Deveney reports Miami has about $3M below the first-apron hard cap and wants depth behind starter Davion Mitchell and backup Dru Smith. The Heat have discussed Vincent and Cameron Payne but would prefer a trade upgrade.

Jake Fischer separately reports internal interest in a veteran guard now that Klay Thompson's minimum deal freed up space below the threshold. Miami has one roster spot and one minimum contract left to use.

Bleacher Report's Grant Hughes suggests Miami reunite with free agent Gabe Vincent to fill its 15th roster spot. The Heat sit near the first apron, but a minimum salary could still fit. Vincent is floated as a fallback if Miami misses out on John Konchar.
