Vincent passed on Knicks camp battle, still eyes Heat return
Gabe Vincent passed on a chance to sign with the Knicks and compete for a camp roster spot, choosing to wait for what NBA insider Marc Stein called a more sure-fire opportunity. SNY's Ian Begley had first reported New York's interest in Vincent.
The Knicks instead signed Bruce Brown, John Konchar, Ochai Agbaji, James Wiseman and Drew Eubanks to Exhibit 9 deals for a crowded perimeter and center battle, and are expected to carry only 14 standard contracts, meaning several of those veterans will compete for one remaining spot.
Miami Herald reporter Barry Jackson had said Vincent wants a Heat reunion, but Miami has not offered him anything and is keeping its 15th roster spot open. Vincent could still join Miami's camp on a non-guaranteed deal, competing with Dru Smith for a reserve role.
