Vanderbilt still a Lakers trade candidate after roster additions

Jarred Vanderbilt remains on the Lakers roster, and ClutchPoints' David Yapkowitz reports the team has continued trying to move him. Signings of Ziaire Williams and Matisse Thybulle squeeze his spot in the rotation.

Vanderbilt is owed $12.4 million this season as part of a deal with two years and $26 million left, a number that scared off suitors in August. An earlier speculated deal involving Jonathan Kuminga never materialized before Kuminga signed with Minnesota.

The Lakers reportedly hoped more playing time could rebuild Vanderbilt's trade value, but coach JJ Redick has barely used him through two preseason games, logging just 16 minutes and two points in the second. Without more minutes, any trade rehab looks stuck until next summer.
