Vanderbilt and a 2031 second for Grant Williams in Lakers pitch
A trade idea has the Lakers sending Jarred Vanderbilt and a 2031 Wizards second-round pick to Charlotte for Grant Williams, swapping Vanderbilt's roughly $12.43 million for Williams' $14.27 million expiring deal, a difference Los Angeles can absorb under its first-apron hard cap.
The pitch follows the Lakers missing on Jonathan Kuminga, with Williams offered as the shooting big alongside Walker Kessler, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. Williams shot 38.8% from 3 in 36 games last season after returning from a knee injury in January. No talks between the teams have been reported.
