Two of Hardy, Knecht, Vanderbilt could go in a 2-for-1 deal
The Lakers need to shed one roster spot before mid-October, and Lakers insider Khobi Price says a 2-for-1 trade involving two of Jaden Hardy, Dalton Knecht and Jarred Vanderbilt is their likeliest path.
That would send two players out for one back from a team with an open roster spot, potentially even netting a second-round pick.
Waiving a player outright remains an option but is less appealing since the Lakers missed the deadline to stretch a cut player's salary. Vanderbilt is reportedly the hardest to move given the roughly $25 million he is still owed over two seasons.
Lakers Nation's Trevor Lane names Pelicans center Yves Missi as a player worth watching, though New Orleans has historically asked a steep price for him. Lane also floats Magic big man Goga Bitadze, who has one year left on his contract at $7.6 million, as a cost-cutting trade candidate for Orlando.
