Trade idea sends Washington to LA for Knecht, Vanderbilt and a pick

A trade proposal from Basketnews.com would send PJ Washington from Dallas to the Lakers for Dalton Knecht, Jarred Vanderbilt and a 2032 second-round pick originally acquired from Washington in the Deandre Ayton deal.

The idea addresses reported Lakers interest in adding a starting power forward, with Knecht and Vanderbilt previously named as the pieces LA would be most willing to trade.

The Athletic's Dan Woike had separately called the extra draft capital from the Ayton trade a pleasant surprise for the front office, and this proposal is one way it could get used.
