Trade idea sends Paul George to New Orleans for Trey Murphy III
NBC Sports Boston's Justin Leger floated a trade idea sending Paul George and draft capital from Boston to New Orleans for Trey Murphy III, calling it his deadline prediction.
George has two years left on his deal, with a player option on the final season, which Leger suggested makes him a candidate to be flipped for a longer-term piece. George himself downplayed any exit talk this week, saying he sees his role in Boston as complementing Jayson Tatum rather than being the lead star.
An unnamed NBA executive told Sportando's Sean Deveney that George still holds real trade value around the league. The executive cited his rare skill set and the shorter remaining length of his contract as factors working in his favor, without naming any specific team or trade talks.
