Trade idea sends Murray, Murphy to Golden State for Butler, picks
A proposed trade would send Dejounte Murray and Trey Murphy III to Golden State in exchange for Jimmy Butler, Brandin Podziemski and a stack of draft picks headed to New Orleans.
The Pelicans would collect four future first-round picks or swap rights plus a second-rounder, while taking on the final two years of Murray's four-year, $114M deal.
The pitch pairs Murray and Murphy with Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Kristaps Porzingis in a win-now push, with Butler's expiring money and Podziemski's restricted free agency making the Pelicans' side easier to swallow.
