Trade idea sends McBride to Pelicans for center Yves Missi

A proposed swap would send Miles McBride to New Orleans, using the Pelicans' $4.5M trade exception from the Jose Alvarado deal, while the Knicks land Yves Missi's rookie contract without touching the second apron.

The pitch reasons the Knicks can afford to move on from McBride after Jordan Clarkson's re-signing and Landry Shamet's playoff run, and with Tyler Kolek in line for more minutes.

For New Orleans, it would clear the path for Derik Queen to become the starting center, addressing tension ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel reported between Missi and the team over his reduced role last season.
