Trade idea sends Jones Jr. to Lakers, Hardy and picks to Clippers
A trade idea floated by Heavy would send Derrick Jones Jr. from the Clippers to the Lakers, reuniting him with Luka Doncic after the two shared the 2024 Finals run in Dallas.
In the proposed package, the Clippers would get Jaden Hardy plus three future second-round picks, with the idea framed around a Clippers rebuild after the Kawhi Leonard trade and with Jones entering the last year of his three-year, $30 million contract.
The Clippers were stripped of five first-round picks and fined $30 million for circumventing the cap in the Leonard deal, fueling speculation Los Angeles could move Jones.
LakeShowLife's Svyatoslav Rovenchuk argues the Lakers should pursue him, suggesting even a couple of second-round picks could get it done, and ClutchPoints' Brett Siegel reports Jones had already been floated as available in trade talks before the league's ruling.
