Trade idea sends Coulibaly to LA for LaRavia, Knecht and a pick

A trade idea would send Bilal Coulibaly from Washington to the Lakers for Jake LaRavia, Dalton Knecht and a 2029 second-round pick.

Washington could look to move on from Coulibaly after drafting AJ Dybantsa, while Los Angeles adds a young two-way wing without straining its cap. Coulibaly averaged 11.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists last season, a step back after a strong sophomore year.

A separate proposal would reunite Daniel Gafford with Luka Doncic in Dallas, sending Jaden Hardy, Knecht and two second-round picks from Los Angeles. The move would trim the Lakers to 15 players and add center depth behind Walker Kessler and Kevon Looney.

NBA insider Jake Fischer reports the Mavericks actually want a first-round pick for Gafford, which the Lakers cannot offer. Gafford is entering a three-year, $54M extension and missed 27 games last season with injuries.
