Three-team idea sends Sabonis to Golden State, Butler to Chicago

A three-team trade concept would send Domantas Sabonis to Golden State, Jimmy Butler to Chicago, and Patrick Williams, Isaac Okoro, Jalen Smith, Tre Jones and multiple protected first-round picks to Sacramento.

The swap would cut Golden State's payroll by shifting off Butler's $56.8M expiring deal for Sabonis' $45.5M salary. Chicago would take on Butler's expiring money but shed the final two years owed to Williams.

NBA insider Jake Fischer has reported that Sacramento wants strong value for Sabonis, who is seeking a new extension after changing representation. This remains a hypothetical framework rather than a reported negotiation.
