Speculation links Rockets to Anthony Davis trade

Sports Illustrated's Blake Silverman has floated Houston as a landing spot for Anthony Davis if Washington moves away from him, pairing Davis with Kevin Durant. Shams Charania reports the Wizards and Davis' agent, Rich Paul, have agreed to hold off on extension talks until roughly 20 games into the season.

ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk reports Davis's future with Washington may hinge on how the 2026-27 season starts, with a rough opening potentially pushing him to seek a trade to a contender and a strong one keeping him in place. Davis has said he believes he and Trae Young can help turn the franchise around.

Davis has yet to play for the Wizards since arriving from Dallas in February and carries a $62.7 million player option for 2027-28. Fadeaway World's coverage of Youngmisuk's report also floats Golden State and Boston as speculative destinations if a trade ever materializes.
